HIV/AIDS: Breaking Barriers Needs Holiday Food

Source: A Town Crier Announcement

Breaking Barriers delivers 150 Holiday Food Baskets to our clients.  The cost is approximately $3000 dollars and currently we only have a limited supply of canned goods. And sadly donations to non-profit agencies are way down this year and we need the communities help more now then ever.  We need cash to buy turkeys, hams as well as other holiday meal items and will also be delivering pre-cooked meals to our clients that live at places like Avalon that are just too ill to cook for themselves.

We have a contact at Safeway that has so graciously given us a extra discount on Safeway brand items so we also can benefit from Safeway Gift Cards and have an army of very savvy shopper volunteers who are willing to do the shopping as well as putting together the packages and delivery.

The food delivery starts on Wed., Dec. 16, so we need the donations as soon as possible. People interested in donating money can do so at http://www.breakingbarriers.org/donate.html, or by stopping by the office anytime Monday through Friday.  Anyone that would like to have the donation picked up can contact Chuck Churchill directly and he is more then willing to pick items up evenings after 5 p.m.

We really appreciate your assistance with our program during this much needed time of year.
